This a great bike for someone who longs for a simple life style. Climb on, ride! It shifts for you (and you can adjust how it shifts) it looks cool, and is comfortable! Great basic easy transportation! Exactly what a daily bike should be! Would be even better as a 5 speed, but it is great! Shows how far Trek is our of touch that they discontinued it!

I purchased this for my son with autism. This bike could not be more perfect for him & we only spent this much money for a bike for him because it was so ideal. No other bike worked. Single speed not enough. Multi-speed- way too confusing for him & he kept switching gears when the bike was not even moving. Nice saddle- wider than a mountain bike, yet not too wide so he did not look like a complete dork. No more long pants getting caught in the chain! The list goes on. He just loves it. 3 years later now & he loves it just as much as his first ride. GREAT investment. They should really advertise this bike for those with disabilities. It really is a simple and very relaxing ride. If this one ever falls apart, we'll be buying him another one.

I'm on my second Lime Lite; the first one got run down by a cell phone driver. Both Limes were wonderful, but they =did not shift at all= as given to me out of the box (I told the dealer to let me do the adjustments) Point: a Lime or any of these coasting bikes is likely to need a first-set-up to make the Coasting system shift properly. Once made right, then the user can fine tune the shift points. Once broken in (about fifty miles or so), the bike is stealthy-quiet and very easy running. I just got home from a fifteen mile ride, no noises, no sore butt, no complaints. I love the Lime and it does make road bikers wonder what fun =they= are having, when I can go on grass or over ruts and not need to stand on the pedals. Get a Lime before they're all gone, and have a collectible bike with a unique personality, fun to ride: it just goes smoothly along, Coasting! I got my first Trek in 1983 or '84. It, too, was a great bike. But now I have need to sit upright. You go a little slower, but, what a view of the road. PS: I live in flat territory. By swapping the rear cog (20t) to one with 18 teeth, I gained a gearing up, ideal for my likes. I can cruise easily at fifteen mph, and wind out if I hit eighteen in a sprint of joy.

This bike is simple and easy to use. No hassling with gear shifting or hand brakes. Three speeds, automatic shift, comfy seat, fat tires. I really like it.

I wanted a commuter bike due to the high gas prices, but was unsure about bikes with complicated gearing. I had already given away a Trek 7.2 with 24 gears to a friend. I thought I wanted a singlespeed, but the salesman talked me out of that and directed me toward the Lime... While not totally happy with the Lime, I am grateful that I bought it instead of a singlespeed. At least I got back into biking. I would be happy with the bike if you could rip out the automatic gearing. I just don't like it. It changes gears too slowly and that's irritating when you come to a hill, both before and after... and that lag time makes the bike ride even slower. However, it does ride well on grass, so lol, it's going to be my beater/night/gardening bike. I do like the comfortable ride, the fat tires... the fact that it rides well on grass. It's not the prettiest of bikes, but that will work for me when I'm out on the streets and have to lock it up. I do love the internal hub. That's the main reason why I won't part with it. I just wish it hadn't been so expensive, but I do like all of the pricey components so even though I have problems with it, I'm sort of okay with it.

This bike is fantastic as a cruiser. If you are peddling too fast in third gear to cause any kind of issue you are not cruising, you need a different bike. It is well built, and comes with nice Bontrager components. The big leather seat is comfortable for a ten mile ride up and down the beach bike path. The tires are filled with puncture sealant, so you can relax. There are no brake levers, or cables to snag anywhere. It's just a simple get on and go bike with a simple coasting brake. Although Trek doesn't mention anywhere in their user manual how to adjust the automatic shifting settings, it's easily done by anyone. You simply turn a single flat head screw on the computer unit to adjust if you want the system to shift smoothly as slower speed, after you are peddling fast, or anywhere in between. Different riders will want to adjust this. You can also set it to N if you really prefer a single speed all the time.

Bought 07 lime. Peddle too fast and you lose tension. Remember old bikes when chain slipped. Same thing. Repeated occurances. [...] thinks peddeling too fast when in third gear may cause this problem. They will check but I plan to upgrade. Test first.
