The full-carbon 3.1 is made from 300-Series OCLV carbon with a Bontrager Race carbon fork. This frameset is light, stiff and comfortable because the folks at Trek are masters at the material, they do it right. The solid components are chosen for their combo of durability, reliability and straight-up value like the 10-speed SRAM Apex drivetrain with compact cranks and Bontrager controls and wheels. The geometry is smack-dab in the middle between upright and aggressive racer, it's neutral without feeling dull; fast, without being twitchy.
