Awesome bike to get started in the sport!I knew I enjoyed the sport as I had some experience with riding in middle school during summer camp about 10 years ago. I finally moved to a place in the US with some decent trails and a disposable income to utilize. So, I did my research. At purchase time, I was definitely still a novice and didn't want the hand holding of a full suspension -- so I started with a decent hardtail. I picked this bike as it was recommended by bikeradar.com as the BEST bike for the price. I couldn't agree more with their review. It is an awesome value (components wise) and the overall bike handles excellent for the money! My skills have quickly progressed on this bike and I definitely have caught the mountain biking bug. I'm already keeping up with and even dusting some of my friends who have been riding for years! I'll probably upgrade to a nicer bike when I feel like my skills have outgrown it. But right now; I'm smitten.

I trail ride on this bike but I also take it out on some of the Rails to Trail rides. It does it all.

This 29er is Ideal for bikers who don't often ride on technical trails. The Wheels are so heavy including the tires. Owned this bike since April 2012 and the REAR derailer is not durable. If you're into Racing then buy a MTB that has XT/XTR components so you can compete well.

Had this bike 3 months now and I just love it! Great on trails and road, nice and smooth ride, glad I didn't get a "Dual Sport" bike that I was thinking of. Love the disc brakes...almost too good at times...they stop you..RIGHT NOW!! The seat that comes with the bike was junk so I changed it and the pedals will be next to go...The screws that hold the cleat part on the pedal back out all the time, so much so that one of the reflectors popped right off! Other than that I love the bike and it looks great in the blue & white too! Highly recommended!

Just picked my 2012 Mamba (Black) today. Couldn't be happier with my decision. This bike feels great. I was originally going to get a DS 8.5, but my gf wants to do some mountain biking. I was afraid that this bike would be slow due to it's MTB nature, but I was wrong. It rides smooth, has nice/smooth gears, and the shock is awesome! I would definitely reccomend this bike to everyone. Plus the staff at [...] was super helpful. They made sure I was extremely happy!

I bought this bike earlier this year (roughly about 100 miles in it), and so far the bike has been a great asset. I mostly ride it in if off-road trails and so far no major complain. My biggest issue with the bike is the quality of the components, with less than six months I am already having issues with the shifting, and my brake pads are gone. Nevertheless, I love how it handles and maneuvers around technical obstacles, and how easy it pick ups speed.

I did a lot of research to see where I could get the most bike for the money and I was not dissapointed with this purchase. I've rode over 50 miles since purchasing the bike with about 50/50 on road vs trails. The bike actually feels more at home on the trails. There is always a gear for any hill you come across. The brakes are awesome. I love the bike. Not sure about the saddle,I will re-evaluate after a month or so. I strongly recommend this bike for the recreational rider.

Great bike I was between this and the marlin if your in the same boat get the mamba much better brakes forks tires ect. This is my first 29er it climbs so much better then a 26 and holds its speed better also. It's a little on the heavy side which I think is the bigger rims and tires but not to bad. Some advice if your buying your first 29er go with a smaller frame than larger I'm 5 9 and had the 17.5 frame ended up returning it for a 15.5 the 17 was way to long. All in all a great bike and very upgradable.

I have had it for 2 weeks and with the rain I have only ridden it three times. All have been on are cement trails. I get off the trail every chance I get, It handles both awesome. The only thing I have found that is sub par are the pedals. I have replacements on the way.
